The Department of Mechanical Engineering stands out among all the other branches of our college.

• Dr. P. Suresh Kumar, Associate Professor, received the BEST FACULTY AWARD from Novel Research Academy, Puducherry, India in the academic year 2022-23.
• Accredited "A" grade for three years by NBA, AICTE New Delhi in the year 2021 for three years.
• Accredited "A" grade for three years by NBA, AICTE New Delhi in the year 2017 for three years.
• Accredited "A" grade for two years by NBA, AICTE New Delhi in the year 2012 for two years.
• Accredited "A" grade for three years by NBA, AICTE New Delhi in the year 2007 for three years.
• Accredited "A" grade for five years by NBA, AICTE New Delhi in the year 2002 for three years.
• Accredited "A" grade for three years by NBA, AICTE New Delhi in the year 1999 for three years.
• College Accredited by APSCHE, Hyderabad in academic Audit Grade. It is informed that it is the Second best among the private Engineering Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
• P.G. Course M.Tech. in MACHINE DESIGN was started in 2013 with an intake of 18 students.
• P.G. Course M.Tech. in CAD/CAM was started in 2004 with an intake of 18 students and was windup in 2013.
• The Students of the department excel in the University Examinations by receiving GOLD MEDAL for being University I Rank Every Year.
• The Department is the winner of CZARS Title (Overall Championship) twice in the years 2006, 2008, and 2010 within the college.
• The Department is the Overall Sports Champion for the years 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
• The Department was awarded nearly Rs. 2.14 Crore worth projects by AICTE, UGC, DST, TAPTEC, NEDCAP, and APCOST.
• 22 staff members of the department are PhD holders and 10 more staff members have registered for PhD in Andhra University, JNTU, Osmania University, etc.
• Dr. N.V.V.S Sudheer, Professor and Sri J. Purushottam Karthik, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department received Dhronacharya Award during E-Baja Event organized by SAE in 2020.
• Dr. K. Praveen Kumar, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department received Young Engineer Award from the Institution of Engineers India (India) on the occasion of 48^th Engineers Day celebrations, Vijayawada local centre on 15^th September 2015.
• Dr. Kolla Srinivas, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department received the Crops of Mechanical and Electrical Gold Medal for the Paper titled "Optimum Design of Axial Flow Gas Turbine using GA" in the 20^th Indian Engineering Congress of the Institution of Engineers, India held at Kolkata during December 15^th -18^th 2005.
• B.Tech students participated in a National Competition "ISIE-HVC 2016, RPM International Racing Circuit" organized by Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIE) during January 24^th -26^th, 2016. The project got Runner-up award for the Skid Pad round.
• B.Tech students participated in a National Competition "E-BAJA, Natrax" organized by SAE India at Indore during February 20^th -22^nd, 2015. The project got 1^st prize Rs. 60,000/- (Sixty thousand rupees only).
• B.Tech students participated in a National Competition "DELTA SHOOTOUT" organized by M/s TATA Motors at NIT Jamshedpur during January 22^nd -24^th, 2014 with ATV (All Terrain Vehicle). The project got 2^nd best prize Rs. 40,000/- (Forty thousand rupees only). This ATV was prepared with a funding of Rs. 4,00,000 (Four lakhs only) supported by the collaboration of students, M/s Jayalakshmi Automobiles, M/s Pioneer Automotives, and the management. Dr. K. Ravindra, Prof & HOD, Dr. NVVS Sudheer, Sri K. Bala Prasad, Assoc. Prof, Sri. K. Srinivasa Rao, and Sri K. Siva Nageswara Rao, Tech-B are the faculty advisors.
• Acharya Nagarjuna University recognized our department by awarding a research centre in Mechanical Engineering.
