The department, led by Dr. K.S. Balamurugan since 1995, boasts a dedicated team of 43 experienced faculty members from diverse fields including Mathematics, English, Psychology, and Physical Education. They have made significant contributions to research in areas such as Algebra, Fluid Mechanics, Statistics, and language teaching. With over 300 published articles, the faculty also mentors 25 Ph.D. and M.Phil. scholars. The department emphasizes practical knowledge to help students address engineering challenges and focuses on enhancing communication, soft skills, and interpersonal abilities to improve employability.
