Renewable Energy at the Service to Mankind

  • We cannot think of any activity that does not require energy. Hence it is aptly said that energy is life. Fuels like coal, diesel, petrol, wood and LPG gas are the major sources of heat energy. Energy is also available as kinetic energy in running water, wind, sea waves and tides. Most popular and common form of energy sources for us is electricity and fuels. The energy source should not be harmful to the environment when it is stored or when it is being used. The sustainability of source is also a critical factor.

Renewable Energy (RE) is gaining unpreceded importance due to limited fossil resources, environmental pollution and the climate change. Serious thought needs to be accorded to evaluate the economic competitiveness of all available energy sources in the background of three main parameters. These relate to an increasing gap between the demand and supply of conventional power, accompanying transmission and distribution losses and importantly, the climate change process. Surely, RE is poised for a second big leap forward to lead towards sustained economic growth in the near future.

This conference brings information on all RE sources under one roof as there is an undeniable need to exchange information on a variety of topical issues. The objective of this programme is to develop incessant spirit of competition among the students and to provide a forum for interaction and exchange of views between the students from various institutions.
