About NCC

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development movement in India, aimed at nurturing the country's young citizens into responsible and capable leaders. This organization plays a crucial role in nation-building by fostering qualities such as duty, commitment, dedication, discipline, and moral values among the youth. Through its diverse programs, NCC offers opportunities for holistic development, encouraging cadets to become disciplined, service-oriented, and adventurous. Participation in NCC is voluntary and open to all regular students in schools and colleges.

Motto of NCC

The motto of the NCC is "Unity and Discipline," adopted during the 12th Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting on 12th October 1980. This motto reflects the core values that the NCC instills in its cadets, emphasizing the importance of unity and disciplined conduct.

NCC Flag

The NCC flag is a symbol of the organization's unity and the integration of its three service wings: the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The flag embodies the NCC's commitment to discipline, patriotism, and national service. The colors of the flag represent the three wings:

  • Red: Represents the Army wing.
  • Dark Blue: Represents the Navy wing.
  • Light Blue: Represents the Air Force wing.

The primary objectives of the NSS include understanding community needs, developing a sense of social and civic responsibility, acquiring leadership qualities, and promoting national integration and social harmony. The motto, "Not Me But You," reflects the essence of selfless service and democratic living. The NSS symbol, inspired by the Konark Sun Temple's wheel, signifies the cycle of life and continuous social upliftment, while the NSS badge reminds volunteers to remain ready for service at all times.
