MYSTERY DOORS & TUNNELS
09 October 2026 08:00 AM – 03:00 PM
Online – NEXAA Assessments · Virtual technical puzzle competition featuring 40 virtual doors across Aptitude, GK, Coding, and Riddles.
🏆 Duration: 30 Minutes | Team Size: 2 Members | 40 Virtual Doors | 3 Tunnel Skips
About the Event
Mystery Doors & Tunnels is a team-based virtual technical puzzle competition for 2-member teams. Unlock virtual doors by answering questions, use tunnels strategically, and earn points as you progress through the path.
The competition consists of approximately 40 virtual doors. Each door presents a question; teams answer correctly to unlock the door and move forward. Questions are selected from Aptitude, General Knowledge, Coding, and Riddles.
Gameplay Flow: Question → Discuss → Submit Answer
• Correct Answer: The door opens and the team receives points based on question difficulty (Easy: +2000 pts, Medium: +2500 pts, Hard: +3500 pts).
• Wrong Answer: Whenever a participant attempts a wrong answer, the question is swapped with another domain at the same difficulty level. This causes no negative marks.
• Tunnels (3 chances): Every team starts with 3 tunnel chances. A tunnel acts as a shortcut that allows a team to skip the current challenge and move forward without solving the question. Using a tunnel awards 0 points but allows faster progression. Once all three tunnels are used, the team must progress normally by solving questions.
• Hints (Hard level only): For hard level questions only, teams have 3 hints available. Each hint used deducts 500 points (-500 pts).
• Interactive Telemetry: The interface displays current score, level, remaining time, and available tunnel/hint chances in real-time.
• Completion: Teams continue until they complete the available doors or the 30-minute timer expires.

Objective & Strategy
The main objective of Mystery Doors & Tunnels is to combine technical knowledge, logical thinking, general awareness, coding skills, and quick decision-making into an interactive competition.
// STRATEGY TRIFECTA: SOLVE → SWITCH → TUNNEL
Teams must decide when to spend time solving a question, when to switch to another question, and when to use one of their limited tunnel opportunities. The combination of virtual doors, multiple domains, difficulty-based scoring, question switching, and limited tunnels makes the competition fast-paced and highly competitive.
Rules & Guidelines
- Each team must consist of exactly 2 students.
- Total competition duration is strictly 30 minutes.
- Approximately 40 virtual doors are available across the 4 domains.
