To develop practical workshop skills in the students.

COURSE OUTLINE:

Concepts in electrical safety, safety regulations, earthing concepts, electrical shocks and treatment.

Electrical Wiring: voltage and current measurement, transformer windings (low voltage: 6,9 and 12 volts), motor and generator windings (concept only).

- The main aim of this lab is students should acquire the knowledge of fans, tubelights, compoundterminals, transformer etc ..
- Students should be famililier to all domestic terminals.

Major Equipment

Following is the set of experiments that can be conducted with the equipment available in Lab.

  1. Measurement of earth resistance by earth resistance tester & fall of potential method.
  2. Assembling and testing of AC regulator and three point starter.
  3. Assembling and testing of Ceiling fan.
  4. Assembling and testing of various components of fluorescent lamp
  5. Identification of terminals of DC compound motor
