ADVANCED ELECTRICAL MACHINES LABORATORY

LAB IN-CHARGE: Sri Y.Suri Babu
LAB TECHNICIAN: Sri Y. Srinivasa Rao
LABORATORY AREA: 261 sq. meters

In this Laboratory experiments related to fundamentals of electrical engineering and electrical machines are arranged. By means of these experiments the student obtain the basic knowledge of wiring different circuits, taking readings from various meters and most importantly the behavior of current, voltage, power under different conditions and their determination. These experiments help to provide them the base they require as Electrical Engineers. This laboratory is equipped with various electrical machines such as DC motors( Series motor, Shunt motor), DC generators( Series generators, Shunt generators), three phase AC motors ( Induction motors, Synchronous motors), Alternators (Salient pole type and Cylindrical rotor type), single phase and three phase Transformers. Wide variety of experiments is performed here with combination of different rotating machines.

The Electrical Machines Laboratory supports teaching, research and consultancy work on electrical machines and drives.Through hands-on experiments with real machines, students gain practical experience on transformers and various types of machine drives. These machines are used in our day to day life and these practicals help students to understand why they are best suited for particular practical purposes. The laboratory can also be used for project work related to electrical machines and energy conversion.
